Some primary school teachers in Ondo State, under the auspices of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, are on the streets of Akure, the Ondo State capital, to protest against the payment of their salaries by the local government.
The teachers said they wanted the state government to take over the payment of their salaries.
The protesters are now in front of the Ondo State Governor’s office, Alagbaka Akure, chanting various songs.
According to the protesters, there are always issues and delays of their salary payment when they get their pay through the local governments.
The governor is yet to respond to them at the time of this report.
