Group endorses Obiano for second term

Members of the Akpokuodike Action group for continuity have endorsed Governor Willie Obiano for second term in office.

Addressing newsmen at his country home, Iyiora Anam, Anambra West Local Government area, the state chairman of the group Mr. Michael Nwofia said that the decision of the group to endorse the governor was borne out of his sterling and unprecedented performance in office which has made the state a reference point in the comity of States in Nigeria.

According to Nwofia, the effective security network put in place in the state which was hitherto a haven for armed robbery, kidnapping and other social vices made the governor to win the confidence and support of the group.

He further disclosed that his community was since the creation of the state been neglected by all the previous administrations both military and civilian until Governor Willie Obiano took over the mantle of leadership of the state and constructed one of the longest bridges in the state that links them with the rest of the citizens of Anambra State.

Nwofia listed industrialisation, commerce and industry, good health care delivery, good roads across the three geopolitical zones of the state, quality education, prompt payment of workers salaries and arrears as some of the things that placed the governor ahead of his contemporaries nationwide.

On the issue of the forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state, the Akpokuodike state chairman said that governor Willie Obiano having come from the Anambra north senatorial zone should be allowed to continue his good works in the state and made it clear that his twenty million naira community Choose-Your-Project Initiative has endeared him to the people of the state, even as he revealed that youths of the state are soaring higher because of his youths friendly government and called for all hands to be on deck in ensuring that the governor is reelected at the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
